Last week I attended GLPT's annual safety conference. We had the great privilige of listening to Joseph H. Hallinan, the author of Why We Make Mistakes. His three main factors: Inattentive Blindness, Overconfidence, and the third.. had something to do I believe with memory... which is failing me now. This conveniently brings me to the theme of the next 40 days - the checklist.
I have noticed that my memory is not nearly as acute as it used to be. I have to emply counter measures.
To me, the checklist is not the to do list, in the traditional sense. Rather, the checklist is the complete set of steps towards a goal. So what is my goal? First, I need to see whether a checklist will work for me. This checklist will contain the items to which I need to pay attention. Keeping a better to do list is certainly one of those needs. Let me see if a checklist is a tool for me. A forty day test.
